Her parents remained in Tehran. Now that they are growing older and political unrest is intensifying, she is concerned. She persuades them to install security cameras in every room, so she can stay in direct contact with them from a distance. Maryam finds herself glued to this virtual connection, only now realizing how lonely they must have been all these years. Footage from these cameras inside Maryam\u2019s childhood home forms the basis of this moving, tender, and philosophical film by Firouzeh Khosrovani and Morteza Ahmadvand, respectively director and art director of Radiograph of a Family (2020). The security footage shows the parents shuffling slowly but routinely through their rooms. Over this silent montage, at times intercut with home videos from her childhood, Maryam reflects on half a lifetime without her parents, on growing up in Tehran, and on why she can never return. Nearly every Iranian remaining in the country has considered leaving at some point, while some Iranians who have emigrated have longed to return.&nbsp;<em>Past Future Continuous<\/em>&nbsp;shifts focus from the act of leaving to the homes and land left behind \u2013 places that grow emptier over time. He holds a Master\u2019s degree in painting from the University of Tehran. Trained in painting and sculpture, his early practice evolved into video and installation art, where traces of his painterly roots remain visible. Over the past decade, his work has explored the intersection of visual art and cinema, addressing themes such as identity, memory, and cultural coexistence. His&nbsp;video installation&nbsp;<em>Flight<\/em>&nbsp;is part of the permanent collection at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Back in Iran, she earned a Master\u2019s in journalism and wrote for various Italian newspapers and magazines. Her filmmaking journey began in 2004 with the short&nbsp;<em>Life Train<\/em>. In 2007, she directed&nbsp;<em>Rough Cut<\/em>, a documentary about mutilated mannequins in Tehran\u2019s shop windows, which won thirteen international awards. Her 2008 video installation&nbsp;<em>Cutting Off<\/em>&nbsp;was exhibited at the Triennale di Milano. In 2010, she created&nbsp;<em>A Thousand and One Irans<\/em>, a documentary exploring perceptions of Iran abroad. She contributed to international collective films, including&nbsp;<em>Espelho Meu<\/em>&nbsp;(2011) and&nbsp;<em>Archivio a Oriente<\/em>&nbsp;(2012), produced by Asiatica Film Mediale and Istituto Luce. In 2014, she directed an episode for the Iranian collective film&nbsp;<em>Profession: Documentarist<\/em>. That same year, her documentary&nbsp;<em>Fest of Duty<\/em>&nbsp;explored a religious ceremony introducing nine-year-old girls to Islamic beliefs. Her acclaimed&nbsp;<em>Radiograph of a Family<\/em>&nbsp;(2020) won various awards, including two at IDFA.
